The Absolute Felt cd (20:55)
1995; 3D Reality (Japanese edition)
3D-FE-063
Notes: "The world is as soft as lace, Index (different take) and unreleased 5 tracks" - What's written in the back cover isn't correct. It's a bootleg cd with 6 unreleased live tracks ("The world is soft..." isn't included, believe me). In fact, this is a live performance from the Futurama Festival III, Stafford, from September 5, 1981.
The b/w cover is a detail taken from "Splendour of fear".
The last track isn't Index (different take) , but the 7" b-side, "Break it". What a mess! Though, I put the Index (different take) available in our multimedia section.
Acording to Nigel Silver (Felt Forum, March 2011), "Felt got offered a spot in the Futurama festival at Stafford Bingley Hall and they accepted. However, as you know, [Maurice Deebank] left Felt on a number of occasions and it was just before the Stafford concert that he told [Lawrence] that he was leaving. The latter tried to convince him to go the show, but [Deebank] declined. [Lawrence] then tried to hire [Deebank] as a session player for the show (talk about clutching at straws)and Deebank asked for hundreds of pounds! [Lawrence] offered him something like 10.00p, and Deebank refused. What happened then was a bad mistake by [Lawrence]. He went ahead with the show (just him and Ainge on hand percussion) and improvised everything from start to finish. They just made the entire set up there and then. The result was that the music papers lablelled Felt as "a disgrace"; and the entire sound can only reasonably be described as an horrisonant cacophonic din. Therefore one can only say that they are authentic Felt compositions if one qualifies them as such by the fact that they were played by Felt but never written, and never used again. I do not think under such circumstances that they can be considered to be true Felt tracks; they were a silly effort in order to get through a concert that should never have been undertaken."

Notes: A 20 tracks cd recorded from radio. I supose this isn't a cdr, but I don't know much about it, really.
Ahead you will find both gigs separately...the only difference I found was "Fortune"is missing from Holland 83.
